Avoca Friends of the River invite you to celebrate National Tree Day with the Avoca Primary School children and the North Central Catchment Management Authority on Tuesday 3rd of August, 2010
Last year the children planted over 700 trees along the Avoca River between the bridge at the Pyrenees Highway and North Street.
With the wonderful rain we have had over the last year the trees have grown magnificently.
During the year members of Friends of the River hve spent time removing tree guards and weeding around the trees.
This year the planting will take place along the next stage of the NCCMA's fencing program from the railway bridge north along the river.
The planting will commnece at 10 am and will be followed by a BBQ lunch. Members of the community are welcome to come along and assist with the planting and share Tree Day with the children.
