Golden Valley - Pyrenees Forest

Historically, it was often said that “Australia rode on the sheep’s back”. We will drive into a picturesque valley on the southern side of the Pyrenees State Forest.

Whilst the gold rushes captured the imagination of many, they were short lived (50 years). The real wealth came from sheep and timber. Our drive will take us to Elmhurst and Glenpatrick – the heart of the timber, sheep and some gold mining. It was a “golden valley”.

Your curiosity will be rewarded.
