Along with Halls Gap and Dookie, Avoca was named as one of Victoria's top towns and also made the list of 50 hidden gems in Australia.
The list of top towns appeared on the Discountmyflights website following the month-long contest to locate "the most irresistible, exotic, historic and postcard-worthy small towns in Australia."
Other towns to make the list included Harrow,Tarnagulla, Shepparton, Mooroopna, Tatura, Murchison, Sea Lake, Dinner Plains, Mildura, Swan Hill and Ballarat.
According to the website " Avoca abounds with history, wine, stunning scenery and nature. The wide street is a delight to explore with hotels, cafes, local craft shops and galleries all housed in historic buildings. Avoca is the heart of the Pyrenees Wine Region with more than 20 cellar doors for you to explore, and the township is surrounded by the Pyrenees mountain ranges, which are great for mountain bike riding, hiking and camping."
Well worth a visit...we reckon!
