The first of 4 community information sessions run by Public Transport Victoria (PTV) was held on Tuesday evening in Avoca. The purpose of the session was to enable Avoca and district residents an opportunity to view maps of the proposed rail crossing closures, meet with PTV staff and to provide feedback to PTV on how the closures may affect them.
The large gathering was provided with an update of the project and informed of why it is important to the future of the freight network within Victoria. This session is the 1st in a series of consultation sessions to be held with landholders bordering the rail line and the community in general.
Proposed crossing closures in Avoca include Rowe St, Pearson St, Hollands Lane, Wardlaws Lane & Porters Lane. Once PTV has collated data from the feedback forms there will be further sessions in the new year to explain any alterations or modifications to the process.
Any landholders or residents who were not able to attend the session on Tuesday, are welcome to contact Melanie Kwee and request a Feedback Form. email@example.com OR visit the website ptv.vic.gov.au or call 1800 800 007
Forms are due back to PTV prior to Christmas via free post to Public Transport Victoria, Murray Basin Tail Project Reply Paid 85357, Melbourne VIC 8060
