The flag flew at half mast at the Arts & Gardens precinct at the Avoca Railway Station on ANZAC Day and President Hugh Forster planted White ANZAC Callistemon in the recently created Place of Contemplation garden.
Last November the Avoca Avenue of Honour -Place of Contemplation was completed in time for Remembrance Day and officially opened on Tuesday 19th November by Dr Anne Webster MP Member for Mallee.
Funding for the project was received from the Federal government's Armistice Centenary Grants Program and the State government's Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenue of Honour Grants.
