2020 Football / Netball Season Cancelled
The MCDFNL Executive announced that unfortunately the 2020 season has been abandoned for all grades of football and netball which is understanding in the current climate and recent Covid-19 outbreaks.
Rest assured as a club we have left no stone unturned and done everything possible to prepare for the season had it commenced at the same time ensuring the health and safety of all involved.
I want to thank the committee, coaches, football & netball departments and our amazing sponsors for everything they have done to assist and support the club in preparing for a season.
We will continue with our virtual season and give away weekly prizes in lieu of weekly awards and I thank our Media Officer for the time and effort that is put into this weekly publication.
To have 23 under 11 footballers training last night, decisions like this are devastating and disappointing however as a club we fully support the league executive decision to abandon the season in the current circumstances.
Our Toyota Good for Football raffle has raised $6,750 to date which is an amazing outcome. This says a lot not only about the club but the amazing past and present players and members we have. Thank you to all that have purchased tickets and hopefully one of us will take home a car. The club will ensure this money is used wisely. The committee have previously committed to running a mental health program internally, especially for our juniors and lighting upgrades of both the football oval and netball courts where this money can now contribute to.
If you have not yet purchased a ticket in the raffle, then you can do so at the following link.
The committee will meet over the coming weeks to ascertain what we can do for our juniors towards the backend of the season and when able, arrange a get together of all our players, supporters and sponsors as we plan for season 2021 and beyond.
